Frequently Asked Questions
When is the next Orsett Show?
The next Orsett Show is Saturday 1st September 2018 from 9.00am to 5.00pm
What’s the history of the Show?
You can read a short history of the Show by visiting the Show History page. If you have any photos taken at the Show in years gone by we would be delighted to add them to the website. Please send them via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with as much information as you have, and we will add them on.
How do I get there?
Please go to the Map page for directions by car and bus.
Is parking easy, and how much does it cost?
There’s free parking for hundreds of cars at the Show Ground.
How much are the tickets?
Online tickets can now be purchased at a discounted cost of £10 for adults and £8 concessions. Online tickets will only be available for purchase until 27th August 2018. Tickets can be purchased on the gate on the day priced at £12.00 each per adult, children under 16 years FREE when accompanied by a paying adult, OAP’s £10.00 each.
Is there any Disabled parking?
Yes, there are free Disabled parking spaces for Blue Badge holders in the main car park, close to the large Tents.
Can I hire a Mobility Scooter when I get there?
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to offer mobility scooter hire at this year’s Show but there will be limited availability to hire powered wheelchairs. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note that the grass is very bumpy in places, and it can be quite hard work pushing an adult in a manual wheelchair. Smaller mobility scooters can just about cope, but larger ones make easy work of it.
Can I take my dog?
Dogs are very welcome, as long as they are kept on a lead. They will have a lovely day out!
Will there be refreshments available?
Yes. There are a large number of refreshment outlets selling everything from fresh fruit smoothies to cups of tea, and from fish & chips to hog roasts. There’s something for everyone, and because there are so many food stalls the queues are never too long. There is also a picnic area if you would like to take your own food and drink, as well as a beer tent.
Are there plenty of toilets available?
Yes, there are luxury porta-loo toilets available for men, women and the disabled, which are very clean and pleasant to use. There are also baby changing facilities.
What facilities do you have for baby changing and feeding?
There is a small Lost Children tent which also offers facilities for mothers to change and feed their babies. You are very welcome to use this free of charge. Nappies and wipes are available for emergencies.
Can I book a Trade Stand?
Yes, you can book by post or online via our Trade Stand Application page.
Can I book a Craft Stall?
Yes, you can book a Craft Stall by visiting our Craft Stand page. Applications must be in by June.
I’m not sure whether I need a Trade Stand or a Craft Stand. What should I do?
Please just contact either the Trade Stand controller or the Craft Stand controller via the Trade Stand page or the Craft Stand page, tell them about the things you wish to sell and they will be able to advise you.
